Dexter Township has been made aware of scam emails being sent to applicants about zoning and permit applications. These fraudulent messages falsely claim to be from Township officials and request payment via wire transfer or emailed invoice.
Important:
- Dexter Township never sends invoices or payment requests by email.
- All fees are handled only through the official Township application and permitting process.
- Official Township emails will always come from addresses ending in dextertownshipmi.gov.
- The scam emails come from addresses ending in .com, .net, or .org and are not legitimate.
If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from Dexter Township or its board/commission members, do not reply or send payment. Contact the Township Office immediately at (734) 426-3767 or dpz@dextertownshipmi.gov to verify the communication.
