Public Participation Encouraged at Upcoming Planning Commission Meetings

The Dexter Township Planning Commission continued its review of proposed ordinance language regulating High Resource Demand Facilities (Data Centers) at its June 23, 2026 meeting. The Township is currently operating under a 180-day moratorium on new data center proposals and development while these regulations are being considered. At this time, no data center proposals have been submitted to the Township. Over the coming months, Township Staff, the Planning Commission, and Legal Counsel will continue refining the draft ordinance to establish clear, legally defensible standards that will protect the Township’s rural character, natural resources, infrastructure, and quality of life, while ensuring that any future development is compatible with the Township’s long-term planning goals.

We encourage members of the public to participate in upcoming meetings.

The next Planning Commission meeting will be on:

 Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Dexter Township Hall, 6880 Dexter-Pinckney Road, Dexter, MI 48130.

Residents, property owners, and other interested parties are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion. Local decisions impact all of us and community input makes a big difference. Please join us to stary informed, share your thoughts, and be part of the conversation shaping our community. Meeting agendas and packets will be posted on the Township website prior to the meeting.
